Hi, I’m Glacy Melissa. I’m a Brazilian yoga teacher based in the Upper Valley, Vermont, with a background in Hatha Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Naad Yoga, Ayurveda, and Thai Yoga Massage.
My approach to yoga is rooted in presence, mindful movement, breath, awareness, and the understanding that yoga is much more than the physical practice.
I believe yoga can meet us wherever we are. Sometimes it challenges us to build strength and discipline. Sometimes it invites us to slow down, breathe, listen, and reconnect. My intention as a teacher is to create classes that are both grounded and meaningful, offering students space to explore their bodies, minds, and inner experience with curiosity rather than judgment.
My Yoga Journey
My relationship with yoga began many years ago and gradually became a deeper path of study, practice, and self-discovery.
I am a 500-hour certified yoga teacher, with training in Hatha Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, and Naad Yoga.
I studied Kundalini Yoga and Naad Yoga at Nanak Ashram in Brazil, under the guidance of Master Akal Muret Singh, Gur Sandesh, and Indian Naad Yoga Master Parvinder Singh Khalsa.
My Hatha Yoga training is rooted in Ayurvedic principles, studied at Arte Om Yoga & Ayurveda in Brazil under the guidance of Marina Lourenço.
My studies in Thai Yoga Massage at the Hadadi School in Portugal further deepened my understanding of the body, mindful touch, mobility, and the importance of creating space for relaxation and awareness.
Through these different paths, I have come to see yoga as a living practice - one that can be explored through asana, pranayama, meditation, mantra, sound, philosophy, and conscious movement.
Teaching Yoga as a Whole Practice
While physical practice is an important part of my classes, I also love bringing elements of yoga philosophy, breathwork, meditation, and mantra into the experience when appropriate.
My classes can be dynamic and grounding, gentle and introspective, or somewhere in between. I adapt my teaching to the needs and experience of the students in front of me, while encouraging them to develop both strength and sensitivity, discipline and self-awareness.
My background in Kundalini and Naad Yoga also brings a natural relationship with sound, mantra, and vibration into my teaching. Music has always been an important part of my life, and I play and sing with ukulele, guitar, and harmonium.
For me, these elements are not separate from yoga. They are different doorways into the same practice of becoming more present.
